Roving Theater DVD available

The SCCA has produced a DVD of its first Roving Historical Theater production, "The Founding of Sullivan County," held at Keystone Mountain Park, July 7, 2007.

Warning: This is out first try, using a fixed, unattended videocamera, so the production qualities are somewhat primitive.

That aside, it's fun, it's historical and it isn't quite like anything else you're likely to see.

Help us find a home

The SCCA, like the boll weevil, is looking for a home – a Heritage Center for Sullivan County. Right now, we depend on the kindness of tvolunteers and friends like the invaluable Peggy Anderson at Sullivan Terrace in Dushore, who has hosted many classes and other activities at the Terrace.

The SCCA has now reached the stage that, without our own building, we will not be able to expand our presence in the county the way we would like.

Please keep your eyes open for an affordable building with space for (or expansion room for) offices, classrooms, an art gallery and a small community theater.

We are particularly interested in a building with historical value, even if it's not in the best of condition. From a practical standpoint, it is often easier for a community organization to get grants to refurbish an old building than to buy or build a new one.

Let us know if you run across anything interesting. And consider a donation to our building fund. Any amount, no matter how small, brings us closer to realizing the Heritage Center.
